A well known Greek airline company Aegean Airlines andthe European market leader of aviation services Ryanair are the two main pretendersfor the acquisition of Cyprus Airways. According to Cyprus media, by the end ofthe tender process, the government has received a total of nine acquisition proposals.Although, only Aegean and Ryanair have requested the business plans.
By November 15th of 2014, these twocompanies have to present their final proposals.
Among the other contenders there were the IsraeliArkia Airlines, based in Switzerland, a major Russian investor, the ArevencaGroup, S7 Airlines from Novosibirsk, Blue Air from Romania and some others.
